For you Traditional Martial Artists…

Don’t let your kata or forms lie to you. What do I mean by this? Did you know that solo kata are supposed to be a representation of fighting drills that is meant to be done with a partner? Are you doing your kata with a partner?

One of the best advantages of Combat Systema is the realistic partner work employed by its adherents. We can learn to judge an attackers speed, direction, strength, counter attack, mindset, spirit, pain compliance, ability to take a punch, and so much more. Plus, we take our training places outside of the dojo. Dojo training has it’s place. But Attacks really don’t happen in a dojo.
