Brandon Vera should not be in the UFC.

That’s not a dig at Vera, the 34-year-old was out, released after a crushing decision loss to Thiago Silva at the tail end of a three fight skid. Fortunately for Vera, some chicanery involving Silva’s urine sample led to Vera’s loss being turned into a No Contest and Vera getting a shot at redemption against Eliot Marshall on the UFC 137 prelims.

It wasn’t pretty, but Vera got the decision victory. Now on his way back up the ladder he was set to face heavy-handed Kiwi fighter James Te-Huna at UFC on Fuel 4.
