MMA Crossfire – UFC introduces the Ref Cam at UFC on FOX: Shogun vs Vera

The UFC announced today the debut of the Ref Cam will occur at Saturday’s UFC on FOX: Shogun vs Vera event.

Dana White has vowed the most impressive performance from main eventers Maurico “Shogun” Rua or opponent Brandon “The Truth” Vera will earn a title shot against light-heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones.

The Ref Cam is a small lightweight HD camera worn on the referee, worn as a light chest vest under the referee’s shirt. A lithium battery ensures the camera will be able to operate during the card.

It shows the point of view of the referee inside the octagon.

The camera was developed by Inertia Unlimited and was used earlier in the Amir Khan vs Danny Garcia fight.

Many fans have questioned Vera being a heartbeat away from earning a shot but White remains adamant about his opinion.
